Develop Your Knowledge and Expertise
For an employee, it is very important to know that regardless of his/her work, in order to be successful he/she needs to have an up to date knowledge and information about all the areas and fields significant to the relevant organization. As some would say, something is better than nothing, we can safely say that knowing more is always better than knowing less or… in some cases knowing nothing. You should be committed to learn everything about the job you are doing in order to get knowledge, which will help you to get promotions you desire. Knowledge and information can be gathered by watching others in the same field and attending seminars/refresher courses. You would a better candidate than anyone else whenever there is an opening if you learn the traits of your job.
Stay Away from Workplace Politics
It is a universal fact that every organization and workplace has internal politics no matter if that organization is small or large. This is especially a hard fact when you are retaining jobs in Pakistan. If you are serious about your professional growth than you must try to stay away and ignore internal politics. Try not to engage in unpleasant conversation with anyone or think of alternate ways to the top. You can easily spend your time better generating ideas how to improve performance instead of being involved in negative activities such as workplace politics. If you really work hard and show results beyond the expectations of your peers and higher management, you will get their respect and move up the corporate ladder.
